Epoch I - Humanity's Childhood

From L. Robert Keck’s Sacred Eyes:

…..Humanity has been on an evolutionary journey of maturation similar to that of the individual. Collectively, as we do individually, we grew up through a childhood – what I am referring to as Epoch I – in which our purpose was to develop physically.

We had a particular value system attendant to that childhood, a value system which was basically feminine.

When we arrived at the point in our childhood development – somewhere between 100,000 and 50,000 years ago – when we realized we were part of a larger world and subject to forces beyond ourselves, we started expressing our appreciation for the life giving and life sustaining powers of the feminine. The focus of our worship, therefore, was the Mother Earth Goddess.

"Sacred Eyes" - Three Epochs of Humanity

In his book, Sacred Eyes, L. Robert Keck invites us to "View the Entire Human Journey".....

Is there meaning and purpose to the large and long journey of human evolution? Are we going somewhere, or are we just aimlessly wandering around throughout history?

Has evolution been strictly by chance and a ‘survival of the fittest,’ or can we perceive a meaningful and purposeful progression?

…..Is there something special about this particular time in history – 1960 to the turn of the millennium?

.....If this is such a transformation time in history what is it that is being transformed?

…..How do we individually fit into this time in history?

What becomes clear is that humanity has been on an evolutionary journey of maturation similar to that of the individual.

Keck defines three Epochs of Humanity ..... Humanity's CHILDHOOD, it's ADOLESCENCE, and the epoch into which he says we are now moving into: Humanity's ADULTHOOD.

"Sacred Eyes" - A Look into Humanity's Soul

Thoughts from L. Robert Keck in his book Sacred Eyes:

If we look deeply into humanity's soul we can see a new hope emerging, in spite of all the despair that so characterizes the surface.

If we look deeply into our soul we can see an emerging spiritual meaning and purpose, in spite of what dominates mass culture - institutions and dogma that are all but bankrupt for the faithful, and a spiritual malaise permeating the lives of those who have left organized religion.

If we look deeply into the soul of our times we can see an epoch-sized transformation of the human psyche - a growth spurt in spiritual maturity - in spite of the chaos of clashing revolutions and counter-revolutions filling the daily newspapers.

It is through the cultivation of sacred eyes that we can accomplish this depth of vision.

Each of Us Has a Piece of the Puzzle. What's Yours?

In January 2007, I attended a Harv Eker seminar called "Life Directions Intensive." That was exactly where I needed to be at that point in my life. It was there that I put together various pieces of my life and discovered that I had a passion, a mission: "Awakening Teens to Their Magnificence and Power, Creating Bold New Futures" - and I created Serendipity West Foundaton to forward bringing programs such as Challenge Day to the schools of Central Oregon.

I wrote in my notes that weekend at the seminar: "Each of us has a piece of the puzzle" but I didn't write down the rest of whatever was said - it was something like "once you put your piece in place, a thousand others can be placed."

Lately I've been able to attribute the first part to Lillian Smith, but I've not discovered the rest of the words she might have said.

This has become one of my favorite phrases to share with others. It's true, you know, that we each really do have a piece of the bigger puzzle of life. Sometimes we don't find out what it is until later in life, or, like me, much later in life.

It is my desire to share thoughts and ideas that will cause others to come to learn, if they don't yet believe it to be true, that they ARE remarkable and they CAN cause remarkable things to occur in their own and in other's lives.

Would you join me on this journey?
